Beginners Workshop

10 June 2023

A sunny day which offered some harsh lighting conditions for the exercises on aperture priority and shutter priority. Getting a slow shutter speed with a lot of light takes some thought.

The participants grappled with depth of field concepts as they formed images at varying apertures with still life setups. Great fun was had with gymnastic ribbons and bubbles as they explored  freezing a fast moving image or using a slower shutter speed to embody movement.

Four members attended and four non members. The non members are very interested in joining the club.

Thanks to Robert Watts and Anne Watkins for their help to facilitate the event and Jennifer Box for her support and cake.  Martyn said that their assistance was fantastic and to look up at the end of the event and see the hall cleared and tidy is such a great help and what being in a club is all about.
